On June 2nd, in Villa Contarini, will take place the second edition of the "Pic-Chic of Paduan restaurateurs" offering only typical local products from the province of Padua and the Veneto.

After the great success of the first edition, which attracted approximately one thousand people in the "Nogaro" area of Villa Contarini's Park in Piazzola sul Brenta, the "Pic-Chic" makes its way back; a new trend launched by Paduan restaurateurs partners of Ascom (Traders Association), proposing a new formula: formal lunch with typical local products from Padua and the Veneto, but outdoors, in a fun and relaxed environment.
The Paduan Restaurateurs Association, that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in the fall, gathers the experience of 14 restaurants in Padua and its province, which share the common goal of promoting the local cuisine by using typical products, brand and traditional. This year as well the "Pic-Chic" organizers decided to end on a high note the first Food and Wine tasting of 2010, named "Spring Gems", by hosting the event in a distinguished but at the same time welcoming site. This special picnic is a great opportunity for experiencing a joyful day outdoors, enjoy a freshly prepared, new and gourmet meal (in the typical Paduan tradition), in a fun and relaxed environment.

The date set by the Association for the "Pic-Chic", like last year's edition, is June 2nd (Republic Day), that in 2010 will be on a Wednesday. The event will take place from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm approximately. In case of rain the Pic-Chic will be held under the portico within the Villa.

The goal declared by the 2010 edition is to involve an ever increasing number of participants. "And we also aim at taking our cuisine off the beaten path, by conveying in our dishes both tradition and creativity", as explains Elena Cristofanon, president of Paduan Restaurateurs.

During the Pic-Chic all kind of entertainments will be offered: music, games and fun for everyone.

Prices: 25,00 Euros for adults; 7,00 Euros for children aged 7-10.

Children under 5 years of age won't be charged the Pic-Chic ticket. For those interested in a guided tour of the Villa, it will be possible at a reduced cost by buying the ticket to the event.
